The Hive, operated by social enterprise Upturn, is a business hub in the heart of Oldham – the town in which our CEO and founder has his roots.
DCP already provides cloud, cybersecurity and hosting solutions to more than 200 businesses in the UK and US and by partnering with Upturn DCP wants to help smaller, local businesses understand how to get started with managing their data safely and securely. Anwar Ali OBE, managing director of Upturn, said: “Social enterprise is what The Hive is all about. We want to build a network of self-sufficient businesses that are about adding positives to life in our borough.
“That’s something DCP has been doing for around a decade. We also want to link these, so each is helping the other achieve. And I am sure that every business and organisation in The Hive is going to need to know that cyber security is essential and attainable.”
A popular place for networking meetings, the Upturn-run location on the second floor of the Spindles shopping centre also stages sessions from health and business experts and coordinates an online network for local companies – which makes it an ideal location for DCP’s second base.
