Manchester-based Datacentreplus expands accounts team
Emily Cole has joined Media-City firm Datacentreplus as part of its 2016 expansion.
Datacentreplus provides colocation for businesses’ IT equipment at its Media City premises, working with organisations who want to outsource their power, storage and cooling requirements for their servers and data backup.
Joining the account management team, Sale-based Emily (33), will be responsible for helping service existing customers and helping to grow the business.
Formerly of Exponential-e, where she held the role of business consultant, Emily has a wealth of experience in next-generation technology, working with customers to transform their businesses through internet-enabled solutions.
A graduate of Staffordshire University, she has degrees in law (LLB Hons) as well as Forensic Science and Criminology (BSC). Prior to her career move into the field of technology, she held a number of roles within the legal profession.
Datacentreplus was established in 2014 and, since its launch, has experienced positive growth in its first year of trading, expanding to a team of nine, with plans to triple the workforce over the next 12-18 months.
A staunch advocate of the growing role of women in technology, Emily is set to take the stage on the topic at a business conference later this year. On joining Datacentreplus, she said: “The technology sector is one of the most exciting to be working in and I am looking forward to furthering my career with a business that has such aspirations in the Manchester digital scene, a location that I believe is at the centre of the UK’s tech growth.
“In particular I am proud to be working in a sector and a region that is now offering more and more opportunities to women. The North West tech scene is proving a fertile one for opportunities and it is my ambition to help lead that development and encourage more women to seek careers in the budding data centre and tech arena.”
Datacentreplus Managing Director Mashukul Hoque said:
“We are delighted that someone of Emily’s calibre has joined Datacentreplus. Her experience in both technology and the legal sector will be invaluable in support of the growth plans for the business.
“Bringing a breadth of knowledge across the range of services that are leading the digital change in UK businesses, as well as the role of the data centre and data centre services in helping this.”
